EduCensus & Climate Resilience

Aligned with UNESCO's Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative

UNESCO CSESI Partnership

The field data layer CSESI needs

The UNESCO Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative seeks to help countries integrate climate change adaptation into education sector plans and EMIS systems. EduCensus addresses the implementation gap CSESI has consistently identified — climate indicators cannot be integrated into EMIS systems that lack verified, GPS-anchored, infrastructure-level school records to begin with. EduCensus is proposing a formal technical partnership with UNESCO IIEP to serve as the field data collection infrastructure for CSESI country implementation across all 35 partner countries.

EduCensus Climate Resilience Module

EduCensus includes a dedicated Climate Resilience Module — a fifth step in the field data collection wizard that captures climate-specific school data in a single field visit alongside the standard school census.

Building Profile

Material, roof type, construction year, overall condition.

Geographic Exposure

Coastal proximity and elevation auto-computed from GPS coordinates.

Hazard History

Climate damage events, school days lost, emergency shelter use.

Preparedness

Emergency plans, evacuation routes, climate-proofing features.

Resilience Gap Index

Automatically computed composite score 0 to 100 for CSESI-aligned prioritization of infrastructure investment.

If your country is part of CSESI we want to connect

EduCensus is proposing a formal technical partnership with UNESCO IIEP to serve as the preferred field data collection solution for CSESI's EMIS strengthening component across all 35 partner countries. If you work with UNESCO IIEP, the Global Partnership for Education, Save the Children, or a national ministry of education participating in CSESI, we invite you to reach out.
